How do they do it?
At first they seem like they would fall out because they do not put pressure on any of the pressure points in your ear. But they really stick in. The manufacture did extensive research on the pressure points in the ear and even found two pressure points that had not previously been documented. The included ear tips are made from medical grade silicone so although they’re soft and light weight, they really grip the contact points in your ear without applying unnecessary pressure like some other headphones I’ve tried. Aside from being soft, lightweight and pliable, the best part about the silicone earpieces is that the medical grade silicone gets tackier as it gets warmer. So as your body temperature rises while you’re exercising the earpieces grip even better.

How do they sound?
The sound quality is good, and the molded ear tips actually channel sound into your ear canal so the sound gets directed where it needs to go. Even better, the Yurbuds headphones allow you to listen to your music, podcast, or whatever gets you through your workout without blocking out all the sound around you. So, while you can hear the music you still hear a little of what’s going on around you which is great for jogging, cycling or anything where you need to hear outside sounds.

There are two sizes of tips included with your headphones and while these will work for 95% of people Yurbuds wants to make sure you enjoy the headphones and their product support is awesome. I have to say I was amazed at the quality and clarity of these headphones. I’ve spent a lot of money on ear buds in the past and the AH-C360S’s are right up there with the best of them. Usually with the less expensive headphones they are not very clear and not a great fit and worst of all, they aren’t loud enough. With the AH-C360S headphones none of this is true. They give you several different sized earbud tips to custom fit your ear for a comfortable fit. The sound quality is as clear as any headphones I’ve had and best of all they are loud… Plus, you even get a cool little case to store them in when you’re not using them!

Hi I’m Thomas from OneCall and today we’re taking a look at the Monster Cable Beats by Dr. Dre and the particular model we’re looking at today is the Solo with ControlTalk.

They come in a very cool box and they have a lot of neat features as well. I really like the fold up design of these headphones, it makes them smaller for travel and they fit conveniently in the included carrying case. They also have a very nice metal hinge assembly on the headphones for added durability.

On the bottom of the headphone you’ll see the port where you plug in the headphone cable. In the cord you have an integrated remote control that is actually the ControlTalk so when you’re using this with your iPhone or other smart phone to listen to music you not only hear the music as the artist intended but it gives you the ability to pause your music and take a call with the built in invisible microphone, you don’t even have to take your headphones off, finish your call, hit the remote again, and the ControlTalk button allows you to go right back to your music.

Monster includes quite a few nice accessories with the Solo headphones, the cleaning cloth is one them, which is really nice so you can clean the ear pads as well as the headband.

You know most headphones you throw away the instructions because you destroy them when you tear them out of the package, these actually have an owner’s manual that tells you about the features and how to use them.

One of the coolest features is the detachable headphone cable. With headphones, the speaker drivers themselves very seldom goe bad, what usually goes bad is the cable right where it connects to the headphone. Monster Cable was really thinking on this one, the Solo headphones actually have a plug in cord so if the cord does go bad you can just plug in a replacement. The Solo headphones are noise isolating which means they help block out outside noise.

One of the other neat things about this headphone, you have a nice padded travel case with it that also has a pouch to hold the accessories that come with the headphone as well as any other small accessories you may need for your device. The case actually has a very nice zipper so that it’ll last as long as the headphones do.

They have the potential to be a very dynamic headphone depending on what EQ setting you are using on your iPod or MP3 player, but overall are very faithful in their dynamic reproduction of the recording. In other words, they don’t give you a false sense of bass, midrange or treble. When equalized well, the bass is deep and powerful without drowning out the rest of the sound, the midrange is harmonic and the treble is clear and concise. They sound great with all types of music tested including: classical, rock, hip hop, jazz, blues, country, easy listening and everything in between. They come with more than a dozen different ear tips in different sizes and materials including the Monster SuperTips, which are incredibly comfortable and I can listen for hours without fatigue.

All in all, these are the best sounding in-ear headphones I’ve had the pleasure of using; and believe me, I have tried many. They are nearly guaranteed to be comfortable in any ear and they have the lifetime warranty that stands behind their outstanding build quality. Considering everything that goes with this package, even at the MSRP of $379 or $399 for the Monster Turbine Copper Professional In-ear Headphones with ControlTalk these should be high on your list as the last pair of in-ear headphones you will ever own.

The RA1 is compact, 5 inches wide, 5.5 inches deep, and 1.5 inches high – and elegantly encased in solid mahogany wood. Connectivity is easy. It will work with anything with line-level output to RCA analog input. It has a 1/4 inch headphone input, but a 1/8 inch adapter can be used for mini-buds.

The RA1 is available in both a DC and AC version. The DC version requires two 9 volt batteries that will drive the amp for up to 50 hours.

You will get optimal performance from the RA1 when used with Grado headphones, but other brand headphones will also have noticeably better performance. The RA1 HG (high gain) may be a better choice if you are using a headphone from another manufacturer or headphones with an impedance of 100 ohms or more.

The only complaint I’ve found on the RA1 is that there is a “thump” when you turn off the amp. Hint; take off the headphones first.

I mostly use these with my Sansa MP3 player while I’m at work. They sound sooooo much better than the original earbuds, which quickly lost their foam sleeves and became super uncomfortable. Not a concern with these Denon buds – the multiple inserts ensure a perfect fit – so perfect that they almost become as good as noise-canceling models! I got my wife a pair, too, and she loves them with her iPod. And she’s much more an audiophile than I am!

Sure iPod is cool, but when you’re trying to do yard work the headphone cord is not. Plus, the headphone base station comes with a standard analog RCA connection with a headphone adapter, so he can plug it into not only his iPod, but pretty much anything with an audio output (TV, Radio, Home Theater, etc). This means that Dad can use them in the house too when he wants to jam out but does not want to disturb the Mrs. or kids. They also come with rechargeable AAA batteries that charge while it rests on the base station. In a pinch you can use normal AAA too.

So, this Father’s Day give Dad something he can really tune you out with, the great sounding wireless Sennheiser headphones.
