Hi I’m Paige with OneCall.com and we’re going to be discussing the Canon PowerShot A3100 IS Image Stabilized camera.

This camera is very compact it would be very good to fit in even the smallest of purses, in your pocket or to take with you on vacation and the Canon A3100IS is currently available in blue or red. This 12 megapixel digital camera will help you capture very large and detailed photos.

Canon’s Smart Auto feature automatically will choose between 18 different scene modes, depending on the lighting, the motion or different faces in the picture to make sure you’re getting the best picture possible. It’ll really help you look like a pro.

When using Canon’s new Super Vivid mode you’ll notice very intense colors in the pictures you capture. Whether you’re printing your photos out or simply viewing them online, you’ll find that the colors are richer and more true to life. While the low light shooting mode helps you to improve your image quality in low light situations; like at a campfire, outside in the evening, or if you find yourself indoors in low light conditions.

The 28mm wide angle zoom lens is great for capturing more from the left to the right, and fitting more people into those group photos and with the 4x optical zoom you can really zoom in there and capture a little bit more of those images that might be just a little bit far away. Of course, if you’re shooting without a tripod the optical image stabilizer will help you reduce camera shake so that you don’t end up with a blurry photo. While the 2.7-inch LCD really helps you to know what you’re taking a picture of, it helps you to view that subject, and it’s also great for viewing pictures and works excellent in all lighting situations.

There are two methods of shooting a 3D picture. The first is called Individual Shutter 3D Shooting, with this method you can take two shots of the same subject from different positions, and the camera automatically merges and saves the images as a single enhanced 3D photo. After the first image is taken, it appears as a transparent overlay on the monitor to help you align and frame the second shot. Secondly, there is the Interval 3D Shooting method where with a single press of the button, the camera automatically takes successive shots. The camera adjusts parallax in 3D Auto mode for an optimal sense of depth. The Manual mode allows operation of the Parallax Control lever on the back of the camera to fine-tune the sense of depth and alignment of the images on the 3.5-inch wide screen 3D LCD Monitor.

The Fuji FinePix REAL 3D W3 camera is not only a 3D camera, you can switch to standard 2D mode and use it as a regular point-and-shoot digital camera. As a matter of fact, with two lenses it’s almost like having two cameras. With the Advanced 2D shooting modes you can take two pictures simultaneously, one in color, a second in black and white, or one image zoomed in with the telephoto zoom and a the same picture at wide angle. I also liked the large 3.5-inch LCD screen for previewing my photos and that I could hook it up to my 3D HDTV using an HDMI cable. I love the idea that when we go to my brother’s lake home we can take the camera on the boat with us, use it on the beach, and even take it in the water to capture those really fun moments. I know that underwater cameras have been around for awhile but this one really stands out to me for a few reasons; Panasonic’s POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) Shake Detection is really in a league of its own. I have found that this feature is significantly improved over previous models and really helps to capture a great shot. Also, the large selection of scene modes are fun to play with and really allow you to get creative.OH and how could I forget…it has HD video recording! The HVCHD allows almost double the recording time in HD quality compared with the older Motion JPEG format. Do yourself a favor though and buy a mini HDMI cable so that you can watch your videos in HD connected directly to your TV.We have this camera available in Orange, Blue, and Yellow. Which color will you choose?

Over half of the respondents didn’t clean their camera’s lens on a regular basis. Most of the camera manufactures go to great lengths to make the lenses perfect. The lens has a great deal to do with the picture performance of the camera, how well it focuses and how sharp of image and color accuracy. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been at an event and seen people use the tail of their T shirt to clean their lens. I must admit I’m guilty of doing the same. More than 1 in 4 of the people surveyed used a shirtsleeve, canned air or household tissue. If you clean the lens with an ultra soft microfiber lens cleaning cloth you’ll notice better performance. No blurry spots and faster focusing. Microfiber clothes also work well for cleaning the fingerprints off the camera’s LCD display.

Nearly half of the respondents didn’t transfer their images to a backup device, hard drive etc. We use a free program at home that will copy and store your images in an easy to find layout called Picasa. The program is a Google program that I’ve recommended to many friends, family and customers. It will do most of the editing that most people do, keep track of your photos on your computer, simplify uploading your photos to the web and even remove them from your memory card once they’ve been copied to your computer for backup. We go one step further and backup our computer off site in case our hard drive dies.

Over one third of the camera users surveyed didn’t know if their camera had scene modes, face detection, image stabilization or burst mode. All of these features actually help overcome common complaints with Point and Shoot Digital Cameras. I purchased a Panasonic Point and Shoot Digital Camera for my wife that she absolutely loves. We recently went camping and I admired how quickly she could navigate the different features and scene modes. She spends a bit of time every time she uses the camera getting familiar with a new feature or scene mode. You can see just how much she enjoys the camera from the pictures she takes with it. If you have the natural “eye” for photography that she does spend some time getting to know the features of your camera. You owe it to yourself and your family. After all you aren’t just taking pictures, you’re capturing memories.
