Hi I’m Bret from OneCall and I’d like to talk to you about Mitsubishi’s 840 series of home cinema, 3D DLP rear projection televisions.

What’s great about these TVs is they come in larger screen sizes there’s a 73-inch an 82-inch and this larger than life 92-inch screen. These TVs are an exceptional value in large screen entertainment and have an incredible picture quality with bright vivid color. The 6-color image processor lets you adjust the saturation and hue of six individual colors; red, green, blue and adds yellow, magenta and cyan and Mitsubishi’s Plush 1080p video scaling and processing gives you crisper, clearer pictures.

All of Mitsubishi’s 840 series televisions feature a sophisticated, built-in 16 speaker sound system, giving you surround sound in your room without the need for external speakers, or it can be configured as a center channel for use with your existing home theater system. These TVs all have Bluetooth audio streaming capability so you can stream music from your Bluetooth enabled device and with the Ethernet port on the back or Mitsubishi’s optional wireless adapter you have access to StreamTV internet media for services such as VuDu. Another nice feature is a downloadable app that makes your iPod Touch or your iPhone into a remote control for this TV.

These are rear projection televisions sets intended for table top use so they are not wall mountable. Due to their large size they may be difficult to get up or down stairs and around some tight corners, for example this 92-inch television set is nearly 7 feet wide.

I recommend this TV for its larger than life picture. I’m Bret from OneCall, if you’d like to learn more about the 840 series of Mitsubishi 3D televisions give us a call we like to talk to our customers.
Hi I’m Thomas from OneCall. Are you considering purchasing a large screen TV from OneCall? Let me show you how we take care of each TV before it ships so it arrives in great condition. All of our large screen TVs are shipped on custom sized pallets. Each of our orders are scanned for accuracy of model and serial number.

We apply ShockWatch tape to the box to notify the carrier your shipment is fragile and that we are using ShockWatch stickers. When your shipment arrives you want to be sure you inspect the ShockWatch devices, note the condition of the ShockWatch on the freight bill when you sign for your shipment. The small tube on the ShockWatch sticker will turn red if it’s been tripped.

We apply a variety of stickers to your shipment to give the carriers instructions on handling. We also apply a very important sticker you want to take a close look at before signing for your shipment; this gives you instructions step-by-step on how to sign for your shipment. One of the last things we apply is an envelope with your packing slip enclosed. Then the TV is banded to the pallet to keep it in place so it doesn’t move at all during shipment, it also helps to keep it upright.

I’m Thomas from OneCall, as you can see we take a lot of steps to give you the peace of mind that your television will arrive in good condition. If you have any questions give us a call, we love to talk to our customers. Thanks for watching.

Here is some information from Mitsubishi . “Sony has publicly announced the plans to provide software upgrades for the Playstation3 to provide both 3D gaming and 3D Blu-ray playback.* Mitsubishi believes our 3D adapter will be compatible with the 3D signal output from the PS3 but until Sony provides the upgrade this cannot be guaranteed. So what works for 3D? What can you expect to watch with it? In one word, Everything. The dust is settling and the true form of 3D is starting to emerge. Sporting events take on new life, making it appear as though you are sitting in the stadium. You get first row view of your team on a field, the lay of the golf course, or the exact distance that a play was or wasn’t made. Movies now immerse you in their setting and literally draw you in as the story develops around you.

Bottom line is that 3D TVs are the best 2D TVs on the market. They are the flagships models, each draped in the finest technology that brands have to offer. Incredible video processors, deep black levels and contrast that make even CRT TVs drool. They are connected, offering the best input packages and other levels accessible to the internet. Some will even change the content that you have to better suit their third dimensional delight.

If you are looking for a top of the line HDTV, 3D is going to be your best choice. If you are on the fence, hopefully this will help make your purchase decision that much easier.
An update from Mitsubishi regarding the HDMI rating on their 3D Ready HDTVs.

We had a question from a customer regarding the version of HDMI on the new 2010 HDTV models from Mitsubishi. It is not a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ situation. Here is what we have been told by Mitsubishi.

“To claim HDMI version 1.4a the product must support all of the mandatory 3D formats. As you know, in the near future Mitsubishi will make available a firmware upgrade for the 738 and 838 series HDTVs to accommodate all of the 3D formats, so that Mitsubishi sets will not need the 3D adapter. Until that time, Mitsubishi cannot claim our products support HDMI version 1.4a. At the current time none of the current model Mitsubishi TVs support all of the mandatory 3D formats; however the software upgrade for the 738 and 838 series HDTVs is planned to support all of the mandatory 3D formats and some of the optional formats. Before Mitsubishi releases this software upgrade we must have these TVs re-tested for 3D support by HDMI, then we can claim HDMI 1.4a 3D support.

The 3D adapter already supports all of the mandatory 3D formats and a fairly large number of optional 3D formats. This product has already been tested by HDMI for 3D support and has passed the tests.”

Of course there will be more info to follow so stay tuned.

I recently had the opportunity to test drive the Acoustic Research ARRX15G universal remote control experiencing first hand the ease of setup and convenience of using a single remote control to operate my home theater system.

So you just purchase a brand new HDTV and found out that you needed more to add to the experience. You decided you wanted to maximize the picture that you now have available, thus adding a Blu-ray player to your system. The picture was fantastic, and everything you could hope for. It seemed to lack something though, so you added a home theater system. Those gorgeous sounding boxes filled your ears and eyes with everything that you were hoping for. Now which remote was it to turn on which device?

As most of us discover the joys of owning your personal home theater we find almost everything is operated by a remote control, quickly amounting to a collection that sits neatly in a basket on the coffee table, or in a drawer of the end table. Rarely are they all in the same place at the same time. One of the remotes in the pile might even be a multi-device remote allowing you to punch in a series of 4 or 5 digit codes, sorting through the codes until you find just the right one for your device. Now that you have tamed half of the system you can settle into the couch, fingers exhausted.

Acoustic Research has introduced a few new solutions to reclaim control of your home theater system and I recently had the opportunity to take the ARRX15G for a test drive. Their new X-sight remotes allow you to control up to either 15 or 18 device. The first is the ARRX15G Xsight Color which is capable of controlling up to 15 different devices also featuring a color LCD display and uses standard AA batteries. The second model, the ARRX18G Xsight Touch offers control of up to 18 different devices with a color touch screen LCD display, rechargeable battery system with charging dock, and an option to utilize RF (Radio Frequency) control with the optional ARRE433B RF receiver.

One feature of these remotes that really wowed me was the simple set up. Both Xsight remote controls offer easy set up using the on-screen display of the remote itself to will walk you through the different devices and add them to different macro functions such as Watch TV, Watch a Movie, Listen to Radio Etc. This is a process that few remotes that offer extensive control of your system include; usually this type of setup requires connecting the remote control to your home computer. However, if you prefer using your computer to program the remote control, that option is available. Acoustic Research offers the EZ-RC set up software allowing you to use a USB connection and follow a simple on-screen step by step set up guide on your computer. With this software your remote control’s programming information is stored directly on the EZ-RC website, so that you can make changes or add devices and not lose all of your programming information.

While using the remote controls I found them to be well balanced in the hand making it easy to navigate and operate with one hand. The back of the remotes is coated in a nice non-slip rubber ensuring the remote stays in your hand until you would like to place it down. I found that all of the buttons also had a reasonable click to them allowing you to know that they had been pressed. Dedicated buttons are used to turn the system either All On (Hello) or All Off (Goodbye), which helps cut down on devices getting out of sync in the start up or close down procedures.

My time with the Xsight remotes was a pleasing experience. They are a very capable system control option that will help you get the maximum use and enjoyment from your home theater system.

Here’s a quick FYI just in case you own or are thinking about buying one of the new Sony EX700, NX700, and NX800TV sets. These HDTVs have a “presence” sensor built-in that detects people or motion in the room. If nobody is detected, then after a certain amount of time, the back-lighting shuts off to save energy while leaving the sound on. After 30 minutes of the back-lighting being turned off, the entire TV will shut off if no presence is detected.

The Presence Sensor is capable of detecting vertical and horizontal movements.

Although this is a great feature for energy conscience people, it may catch some customers off guard. The presence center is already turned on when you first take the TV out of the box for the first time. If you have a tendency to sit very still while watching TV, you may experience the screen shutting off.

This can be defeated in the setup menu under “eco” settings under “presence sensor”. Simply push “Home” on the remote, select the “tool box” icon, then press “Preferences”, then select “Eco” followed by “Presence Sensor”. There are quite a few adjustments you can make or you can simply turn the sensor off. I think it’s great that Sony is making their TV sets green and their goal to conserve electricity is commendable. Perhaps on next year’s model, however, they can leave this setting deactivated initially or better inform the customer on this new energy saving technology to avoid confusion.
