Your body aches, your throat burns, your nose is either too dry or runny. About the only sense that is still fully intact is your auditor system. Thank goodness I invested into some good speakers for my home theater system. I bought a pair of Polk Audio RTI-10s and right now I am glad I did. They sound great with Two seven-inch woofers and a silk dome tweeter with a superb acoustic resonance. In my opinion, I could not have gotten a better speaker for the price. So when you’ are stuck home sick and all you can do is watch movies. I suggest some good speakers for your system and some chicken soup.

Well I found the neatest gadget. It’s called the Audioengine AW2 wireless adapter. Usually when I get home I take my iPod and place into a dock which is connected to my stereo. It’s nice but I can’t get the song menu on the TV screen and when I want to select a certain song I have to walk up to the iPod in the dock and scroll through the menu on the iPod. Well with the Audioengine AW2 wireless adapter, I just connect the receiver to a stereo analog input on my audio system and connect the wireless transmitter into the bottom of the iPod. The transmitter has a range of up to 30 feet. So I’m free to move around the room (with iPod in pocket) or just sit back on the couch and enjoy. The adapter is powered by the iPod. So, there are no batteries and you use the iPod as a remote control. I just sit back scroll through my favorite songs and once again me and my iPod are never apart.

It did not bend enough to fit without adding pressure to the HDMI input on the TV. This worried me; I did not want to damage the input. After searching the web for a HDMI cable with a 90 degree termination, I came across an interesting product– the Monster Cable VA HDMI R-ADPT. It works great and I don’t have to buy any new cables. I did find some cables with 90 degree terminations but they started at $60. So if you have a friend who is in a bind, tell him not to bend, and go with the Monster Cable 90 degree HDMI adapter!

When buying consumer electronics, some unfortunate happenings can occur. You can drop your camera, your child can throw something at your new 50-inch LCD. Some of these things can be avoided with straps and child-proofing the house. The one thing we can never predict is an act of God like a lightning strike.

This is one of the most detrimental happenings for a piece of electronics. And almost all TV manufacturers do not cover this. They claim it as an “Act of God”. These tragedies are very frustrating. As much as you as a consumer may think that the Manufacturer or Retailer should be responsible for something like this, they are not.

There is hope! Some companies offer extended warranties that cover lightning strikes even in the first year. They are reasonably priced, and some offer a half-back option.

So my suggestion to all you out there whose friends tell you, “Oh, don’t worry. You don’t need an extended warranty.” Word to the wise – listen to God not your friends!

Let’s face it, when we’re watching “King Kong”, we want to feel those foot steps. Or when we watch those war movies we want to be gripping on to the couch for dear life. Well to feel these types of effects you need a good subwoofer. Now there are several different types, size, and power ratings. 8-inch drivers are good for music but for home theater I would recommend a 10-inch or 12-inch model.

Now watt isnt everything but it does determine how much pressure the sub puts out. There are other factors; how it is ported, what kind of amp (class a – b). But as a rule of thumb try and get the best dollar per watt for your money. A great deal out there right now is the Infinity CSW10BK. It has a 10-inch driver and a powerful 650 watts. And the R.A.B.O.S. system calibrates the subwoofer’s frequencies to match your unique living environment. A really good buy because watts is what you want!

For those of you just who can’t appreciate a good lazy day lying on the couch. And you feel that you just have to go tromping through the woods disturbing the balance of nature with your iPods and flashing cameras. Try taking the Sony PGS-CS1KASP image tracker with you.

This is a great device that with any camera you can, once images and data are loaded on to your PC, track the exact latitude and longitude where you shot the picture. It will actually pop up next to push pin on Google maps! This would be great. That way when you come back bragging how great all your fancy electronic devices work in the wild, I will know exactly where to set my bear traps next year and keep the sanctity of the woods for better things like hiding from society and killing animals.

Its Saturday, your riding that wave and life is good. Then you realized you forgot to turn on your surround sound receiver. Now you actually have to physically get up off the couch and search for the other remote. What is a guy to do? What a waste to interrupt such a great couch surfing session. Well I’ve got a great solution my fellow surfers. You may not have to move out of the nest you have built all day after all. With the MX900 Universal remote you can control up to 40 devices, with custom settings for different rooms and users! Basic set up only takes few minutes via PC with Universals software.

They also offer the Genesis software to be used for macro functions and full functionality. In case your components are located in a different area they also offer an RF base station and antenna (sold separately). So put away all those other remotes, train the dog to get the occasional beverage, and you will never have to leave the couch again! Surfs up dude!

This little am/fm HD radio packs quite a punch. Enough to make even Bose wave radio cower in its presence. With Multi line display for Title, Artist, Station Name and some broadcast data. Not to mention iPod input, remote and two seperate alarms. This little monster of a radio surprised me in its performance and features. One thing that seperates this from other units that claim to be stereo is the detachable speaker. Remember, my kind followers of electronic audio devices: you don’t have stereo unless your sound is coming from two different directions, giving you stereo seperation.

OneCall has some refurbished units right now at a price that makes it an easy decision. I have this unit in my garage and it impresses the friends every time. And that’s hard to do when your bad at lying.
