Onkyo HTS5100 Home Theater Surround System

HTS5100Considering the price on this system, it sounds pretty good. My only complaint, which is something that can be remedied by upgrading to the 6100, is that the HDMI is video pass through only. If you intend on using this as a switcher, get the 6100. With this system, the HDMI cords need a digital audio cords run to the receiver as well.

Also, this system still does not solve the quiet audio for dialogue in movies and TV. That means you are still constantly adjusting volume when its quiet and then turning down when there is action.

For music, it sounds great! The subwoofer provides an ample amount of bass for a small to mid sized room. The clarity of the music is nice too and a great bonus is that this system comes with an Ipod dock so you can control your Ipod with your Onkyo remote control. That saves you about $100 getting the Ipod dock included.

Obviously this system is for someone who does not want to spend much, like me, or has a smaller room. However, this system is a much better solution than other systems that have the integrated DVD players such as Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, etc. Avoid those systems at all costs if you value good sound!
