What Does God Have to do with It?
June 13th, 2008 by Gregg HWhen buying consumer electronics, some unfortunate happenings can occur. You can drop your camera, your child can throw something at your new 50-inch LCD. Some of these things can be avoided with straps and child-proofing the house. The one thing we can never predict is an act of God like a lightning strike.
This is one of the most detrimental happenings for a piece of electronics. And almost all TV manufacturers do not cover this. They claim it as an “Act of God”. These tragedies are very frustrating. As much as you as a consumer may think that the Manufacturer or Retailer should be responsible for something like this, they are not.
There is hope! Some companies offer extended warranties that cover lightning strikes even in the first year. They are reasonably priced, and some offer a half-back option.
So my suggestion to all you out there whose friends tell you, “Oh, don’t worry. You don’t need an extended warranty.” Word to the wise – listen to God not your friends!
