Denon AH-C351K Earbuds

Denon AH-C351K Black HeadphonesLike most people I listened to the uncomfortable white earbuds that came packaged with my iPod for years. Not knowing any better I thought they sounded fine, though they occasionally fell out of my ears if I moved too quickly.

Once I started working at OneCall and got introduced to the world of high end audio it became clear to me that I could probably do much better than the cheap white buds provided so generously by Apple.

While the idea of $300 earbuds did intrigue me I thought I would try something a bit more mid-range for my own purchase. After a careful search the Denon AH-C351K earbuds caught my eye. They had the canal-type design that I was looking for as well as the moderate price tag that fit my budget.

The first thing I noticed after getting the correct fit with the adjustable pads was just how much they blocked out the noise around me. It almost felt like I was wearing earplugs the way the buds sat deep in my ear canal and helped deaden all the noise in the office. It was very different than the standard iPod buds that sat loosely in my ear for the last few years.

Next I fired up some music. Wow. Really wow. It was like I was listening to my music collection for the first time. I could actually hear bass, I was amazed. The highs and mids were also well defined and the “ear plug” like design helped me to pick out details I had missed from songs I had heard hundreds of times. It was honestly better than I had expected.

I highly recommend the Denon AH-C351K Earbuds to anyone looking for an affordable upgrade to their stock iPod buds. They’re not the best that is available but for my money the increase in sound quality and detail is absolutely worth every penny and more.

I just picked up a pair of these for myself and another pair for my wife. We both had ear buds die on us within the past 10 days or so. And those were the standard ear buds that came with our MP3 players, so we’re excited for new, better buds!
