Great Travel Lens – Tamron 17-50mm

Tamron 17-50mmMy wife and I recently returned from a cruise to Mexico. If you are like my wife and I, we are forever hauling around backpacks of camera gear and lenses, as well as a really heavy tripod for her favorite hobby. This time, we got lucky. She had recently picked up a Tamron 17-50mm 2.8f wide angle lens for her Nikon D200 DSLR. This was her first time trying a non Nikon lens on her camera, and she was concerned about how this product would perform. After much deliberation, she decided to take this lighter weight lens and a good zoom and we were off to the ship.

She was very impressed with the vivid colors and great low light shots she could get with her new Tamron lens. She did not miss not having her other lenses on this trip at all. (I did stuff one of her favorite lenses in my bag just in case – she never used it!)

If you are looking for a low cost alternative to the standard brand name wide angle 2.8f lenses, I would strongly suggest adding the wide angle Tamron 17-50mm 2.8f to your lens collection!
