KEF PicoForte 1
April 30th, 2008 by Stephanie PI bought my husband an iPod this past Christmas. I felt like I was becoming a traitor. I am a huge fan of Toshiba and we already had 3 Gigabeats in my household. However my husband wanted the iPod Nano since it was tiny by comparison. The Gigabeat is wonderful in performance and ease of use plus it is much more compatible w/ PC computers than the iPod. However, the iPod has it beat hands down in the wonderful accessories available: the best in my humble opinion being all the docking speaker systems.
Choosing a system was a fun and exciting adventure for me. My husband is easy to please and would have been happy with anything I bought him. But I wanted him to have what I considered the best. It had to have sleek aesthetics and sound great! I also wanted something that would be compatible w/ all the GigaBeats in the household. After many twists and turns and a few dead ends, I chose the Kef Picoforte. The system is down right sexy. The finish in shiny piano black and the speakers are in the shape of an oval instead of your standard boring rectangles. I was skeptical that they would meet my sound expectations based on their compact size. My skepticism was ill placed. I should have known anything made by KEF would perform with excellence. I do plan to add a subwoofer since there is only so much bass you can get out of compact speakers.
That will be another adventure!
