The Boston Recepter HD Radio
April 30th, 2008This little am/fm HD radio packs quite a punch. Enough to make even Bose wave radio cower in its presence. With Multi line display for Title, Artist, Station Name and some broadcast data. Not to mention iPod input, remote and two seperate alarms. This little monster of a radio surprised me in its performance and […]
Speed Matters
April 30th, 2008I recently purchased the very difficult to get Panasonic DMCFZ18. After two weeks of use I decided that my old 512mb Lexar platinum card was no longer cutting the mustard. (As with any digital camera the video really chews through the memory.) I was preparing for a four day long snowmobiling […]
Remote Control Extender
April 30th, 2008Recently after getting our Comcast HDPVR Cable Box and rearranging all of our AV Components, we have now maxed out our cabinet’s capability. I discovered an issue that nearly caused a fight between my wife and myself. Our center channel was blocking the TV’s IR sensor. This caused us to discover a new posture […]

I bought my husband an iPod this past Christmas. I felt like I was becoming a traitor. I am a huge fan of Toshiba and we already had 3 Gigabeats in my household. However my husband wanted the iPod Nano since it was tiny by comparison. The Gigabeat is […]

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a campaign for a new TV even remotely like this. The Kuro ads where interesting (if not a bit disturbing) and the Sharp ads with the guys in black suits waving the TVs around was memorable but this campaign cost a LOT of money.
Will it pay off? Depends on […]
Early adopters of HD DVD looking for HD DVD discs cheap?
April 29th, 2008I am one of those people who tend to jump on new technology fast. Instead of waiting for the format wars to end, I purchased both an HD DVD player and a Blu Ray. While there are many places clearancing their HD DVD software, DeepDiscountDVD.com not only has tons of titles for less […]
Finally! A Hi-Def recording solution for camcorders! Canon’s DW-100.
April 28th, 2008It has happened to me before. More than once. I am heading to my son’s play or recital with camcorder and monopod in hand only to find out I did not bring a blank tape. Currently I use a Panasonic standard definition camcorder that uses mini-DV cassettes. You would think I would learn. I am […]
Shure SE310-a Earbud Headphones
April 28th, 2008I bit the bullet and spent the $249.95 on the Shure earbud headphones. I just had to know if they could improve the quality of the sound that much.
I’ve had them for the last three weeks, and there is no way I could go back to the old standard earbuds!

Blu-ray Player or Upscaling DVD Player? Netflix helps you decide.
April 23rd, 2008I love Netflix. I’ve been an extremely happy member since March, 2003. (And I even “used” Netflix before then by sometimes borrowing movies from a friend and then mailing them back for him after I watched them. Hey, I never said I was proud of it.) I normally keep 490+ movies in my queue (max […]
